After changing the computer name and logging into FactoryTalk network:

Follow steps in video to change computer name in FactoryTalk

  1. Go to FactoryTalk Directory Configuration Wizard and choose FactoryTalk Network Directory.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Reset the administrators account for the Network directory—>Log in using administrator’s name and password.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Add this computer to the Network Directory, then click Next.
  7. Set initial access permissions, then click Next.
  8. Finish Network Directory Configuration, then click Next.
  9. Summary – Click Finish.
  10. Note: If the computer will be hosting a FactoryTalk View SE HMI server, you will need to run the RSViewWebManager.EXE utility to configure the IIS web page. If the computer will not be hosting an HMI server, this step should be skipped.
    For 32-bit operating systems:

    1. C:\Program Files\Rockwell Software\RSView Enterprise\RSViewWebManager.EXE
    2. C:\Program Files\Rockwell Software\RSView Enterprise\RSViewWebManager.EXE
  11. Go to Programs–> Rockwell Software–> FactoryTalk Administrator Console.
  12. Choose Network.
  13. Login using administrator’s name and password.
  14. Go to computers and groups > Computers
  15. Highlight old computer name, right click and choose Delete.
