Google launches professional email to compete Slack
Google has released Hangouts Chat on February 28, 2018, a business email that may well be shading Slack. By integrating bots into its tool, Google plays on the interoperability of its various services.
Google announced on February 28 the release of its business messaging tool: Hangouts Chat . This new feature may overshadow other services that dematerialize the meeting room, such as Slack, Microsoft Teams or Mattermost.
25 BOTS TO BREAK DOWN ASSISTANCE TASKS
Hangouts Chat integrates the usual functions of professional messaging: direct messages, group conversations … The cat will be able to handle 28 languages and each “room” will be able to accommodate up to 8000 members. It will be available via a browser or an application available on iOS and Android.
Google should differentiate itself by combining its messaging with other applications like Drive, Hangouts Meet or Google Calendar. Hangouts Chat will include 25 bots to take down support tasks like finding documents on the Drive or finding a niche for a meeting by comparing the calendars of all attendees.
HANGOUTS CHAT WILL JOIN THE G SUITE SERVICE PANEL
Developers will also be able to build integrations for the chat. Google already gives examples of companies that have already developed additional bots: Xero for accounting or Polly for human resources. The varied needs of a company are represented: from a bot for meditation to work to communication tools. However, Hangouts Chat will integrate the G Suite service panel . In other words: companies will have to pay a subscription to use it with all other Google tools, from 4 euros per month for each user.
