Apple Watch Series 3 Now Follows Skiing and Snowboarding
The Apple Watch Series 3 adds snow sports to its repertoire.
Apple updated the Apple Watch Activity app on Wednesday to add tracking for skiing and snowboarding. The update applies to Apple Watch Series 3 models running WatchOS 4.2 or later.
Alpine sports fans can now record their races, as well as see vertical descent statistics, calories burned and more in the Activity app. Skiing and snowboarding are now contributing to the closure of daily activities in the app.
The Apple Watch is supposed to automatically record skiing and snowboarding practices, according to the Apple blog.
In addition to updates in the Apple Activity app, you’ll find similar changes to related apps such as Slopes, Alpine Squaw, Snocru, Ski Tracks and Snow (not a typo). Specifically, they can now collect more data from the Apple Watch Series 3, including the number of races, average and maximum speeds, total time, calories burned and vertical descent and horizontal distance.
